The trade of trophy heads from several parts of the world (including Borneo, New Guinea, and Brazil) to museums and private collections was a widespread practice during the Colonial era. The talk will present how the integration of bioarchaeological approaches with postcolonial studies can be used to explore several issues including trade, manufacture, and forgery of such items.
