International Training Course PEACE – Philosophical Enquiry Advancing Cosmopolitan Engagement

The development of a democratic society implies the promotion of critical, creative and caring thinking to prepare people for life as active citizens in a democracy. This involves knowledge and understanding, skills and aptitudes, values and disposition. One focus on this training course is developing learner’s abilities for taking actions as democratic citizens. That means promoting an awareness of the importance of cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as of the need to combat racism, prejudice and xenophobia. The training course is based on the EU-Project “PEACE” which based on the idea of fostering collaboration through education between partners from different countries in order to promote respect for human rights as embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
